Ive followed most of your journey, which is amazing. I`ve shared your pictures with a few ex - army mates. Im on the verge of buying a tourer, but probably for Europe when I finish my Nursing Degree in July! Any suggestions which bike is best?

One of the things I remember of my overland trip to Nepal in 1971 was how various stereotypes I had completely rejected whilst in the UK constantly appeared in real life. I came home considerably more xenophobic than I had left, and had to work quite hard to return to a liberal accepting state. You are, of course, bottom of the pile as a traveller so you see the worst side of everyone - as well as, occasionally, the best. Hey ho. Complex thing, life.

Just came across your blog Nathan whilst doing some research on Tajikistan. Found it really rather amusing and really good to read a travel blog that wasn't all up it's own Lycra clad arse and serious. Tally-ho old bean and happy cycling. Ants

Hi Nathan,
We hope you have enjoyed you birthday so far also we hope the interview goes well. It will be interesting to see how others celebrate this time of year. We liked the entry on Samarkand. We are not sure if you are ahead of schedule but we are pleased that it will soon be the last of the snowy season for you.
We have been enjoying a number of walking weekends on the Southdowns and will be on the SW Coastal Path in a few weeks, after we have been walking in the West. Its been a very good year so far, but only two short cycle rides.
Annie sent us her newsletter which was very informative. Ruth and Mum stayed with us last month which is always expensive as they are good at assisting me to spend money - it was good fun too. We went to see the Best Marigold Hotel which is very good.
Enjoy the remainder of your Birthday.
Best wishes

Not your best diarrhoea story Mr Jones - Where were the terrified school children? and Lewis Carroll? If you're cycling towards the sun will it get warm soon? The snowy photos are stunning but it must be so cold! Steph xx

Your photos are making me super jealous :/ and I've now spent like an hour looking at them instead of working. That means if I fail my degree it's your fault.
